A new windfarm is proposed for Leeds, at Hook Moor near Micklefield.

Did you know?

The five turbines will supply the average electricity demand for up to 8,340 homes.

Clean and safe solutions

The UK has committed to new EU energy targets to generate 15% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020. To meet its share the UK must make use of our abundant supplies of wind energy.

Approving projects like the one is vital if we are serious about meeting these targets.

Let's make it happen

The original planning application was rejected last year after objections from the Ministry of Defence.

Since then the developer, has worked with the MoD to modify the plans for the site.

They are now appealing against the refusal to grant planning permission, and a Public Inquiry will decide whether or not the windfarm will be built.

Local Support

Hook Moor windfarm is supported by local people from Leeds Friends of the Earth.

Please join them in calling on the Government to approve the project and help cut carbon dioxide emissions.
