A new windfarm is proposed for Leicestershire between the villages of Swinford and Walcote.
The Swinford site was chosen due to its good wind resource, accessibility to the electricity grid, and its environmental suitability.

The eleven turbines will supply the average electricity demand of around 14,000 homes.
Friends of the Earth's Big Ask campaign is calling on the Government to introduce a strong climate law to reduce the UK's carbon dioxide emissions.
The EU now has a new target to generate 20% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020. To meet its share the UK must make use of our abundant supplies of wind energy.
Approving projects like the one is vital if we are serious about meeting these targets.
