Real food for all

Food that's safe for you and the environment is still a luxury item. This isn't good enough - we think it should be available to everyone.

Did you know?

Fruit and vegetables are around 30% more expensive in supermarkets than in street markets

Sustain 2000

Friends of the Earth believes that UK Government policy is at fault:

  • Planning - Supermarkets cause local independent shops to close.
  • Transport - Out of town shopping areas and poor public transport are difficult for people without cars to reach.
  • Agriculture - Lack of commitment to cutting pesticides makes it hard for people on low incomes to buy food free from residues.

Real food for everyone

Everyone should have access to real food that is -

  • Fresh
  • Affordable
  • Locally produced
  • Free from pesticide residues
  • Provides a fair income to farmers
  • Free from genetically modified ingredients

The Government and big business are happy with the status quo. If you're not - then it's time to put your foot down.
