Cadbury's admits its chocolate contains lindane

Major chocolate manufacturer, Cadbury's, admitted for the first time today that their chocolate could contain residues of the dangerous pesticide lindane. However it claims that these residues pose no threat to health.

Friends of the Earth Real Food Campaigner Sandra Bell said: "Chocolate lovers want Real Chocolate - free of dangerous pesticides. Supermarkets like Asda, the Co-op, Iceland and Waitrose are getting lindane out of their own brand foods. Cadbury's and other chocolate manufactures should follow their lead . It's time for consumers to demand that lindane is taken out of their food at once."
