West Cumbria and North Lakes Friends of the Earth have recently part-funded the printing of a postcard calling on Carolyn Flint, the Public Health Minister, to explain the lack of research, monitoring or testing of the levels of fluoride intake in areas that receive fluoride in their water supply.
In 2000, a York University review of water fluoridation found high levels of excess fluoride in fluoridated areas - Newcastle, Birmingham, Durham, Coventry and others. Since legislation in 2004, all areas are now under threat of future fluoridation.
Anyone interested in a print run of 5,000 A6 postcards at a cost of £110 should contact Dianne Standen on 01900 813378 or dianne.standen @virgin.net.
