Friends of the Earth's Rights & Justice Centre has launched a free advice line to help people with environmental law matters. If you want help with an environmental challenge or want to know your rights, they'll give you professional legal advice over the phone.
Public authorities are constantly making decisions that affect local communities - anything from granting permission for big roads to refusing to take action against polluters. Friends of the Earth believes you should be involved in making those decisions that affect your community, but many people don't know what rights they have.
The Advice Line is available on Freephone 0808 801 0405 (Lines are open on Wednesdays 6.30 - 8.30 pm).
It is staffed by legal volunteers supervised by lawyers from the Rights & Justice Centre, Friends of the Earth's legal team. Your case might get taken on by Friends of the Earth, or they'll put you in touch with another organisation that will be able to help. There's also a free Community Rights Resource pack, which can answer many of your questions. This pack and other resources are available online at http://www.yourplanningrights.co.uk/
