Support Gwynt y Môr offshore windfarm

Dear Secretary of State

I urge you to give consent to the Gwynt y Môr offshore windfarm application as soon as possible. Gwynt y Môr, which would be sited ten miles off Llandudno in Liverpool Bay, would generate over 10 per cent of Wales' electricity consumption and avoid the emission of around two million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. It would make an important contribution to the UK's targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating energy from renewable sources. Scientific evidence is showing that climate change is happening sooner and with more severe impacts than anticipated. We cannot delay our response to the greatest threat that we face today.
