Investing in the power of water

The Yorkshire Dales town of Settle is embracing the renewables revolution.

Residents will soon be harnessing the power of the River Ribble to produce clean, green electricity. 

The scheme will use ancient engineering to produce enough renewable electricity for 50 homes.  It's also Yorkshire's first community owned hydroelectric scheme.

A share offer, launched by David Curry MP, means you can now play your part in this fantastic scheme.

Renewable energy schemes like this are part of the solution to climate change but they need support. The Government can do so much more by:

• Offering a premium price to renewable energy producers;
• Abiding by European commitments on renewable energy.

By doing this, many more villages and towns like Settle will be able to tackle climate change in their own community.
