South East

images of South East England

South East England is a very wealthy region. But the high quality of life and economic success enjoyed by many people comes at a price.

The region's ecological footprint is 17% higher than the national average. Also, effects of climate change will increase the pressure on the region from its over-use of resources.

Did you know

The South East contains 40% of England's semi-natural ancient woodland.
