Fix poverty and climate change?

Meena Raman, ex-chair of Friends of the Earth International, is speaking at 6 Billion Ways on Saturday 28 February.

A leading campaigner for climate justice, Meena has been heavily involved in international negotiations on climate change.

Meena will be giving her views on whether it is possible to tackle both climate change and poverty.

She will also be one of the speakers at the evening plenary at Shoreditch Town Hall.

Plenary discussion

The title of the plenary is: Can we tackle both climate change and poverty?

And it'll be looking the following questions:
  • Can we stop climate chaos using market mechanisms and technological solutions?
  • Or are deeper changes to the political system and the way we live, work and make decisions necessary?
  • Can we have a socially just transition to a low carbon economy and what is the role of social movements in struggling for such a transition?
