Green New Deal20 May 2010
The Green New Deal is a solution to the triple crunch of
- recession
- unstable fuel prices
- climate change.
Friends of the Earth is working in coalition with business leaders, farmers, trade unions and community representatives. We're calling on the Assembly to support a Green New Deal.
Investing in an ambitious programme to insulate homes and develop renewable energy could
- create thousands of new jobs
- help secure our energy supply
- build a competitive low-carbon economy.
Did you know?
Refurbishing thousands of homes in Northern Ireland could create about 24,000 jobs.
